• Domestic Water Well Inventory and Baseline Groundwater Quality Assessments –
Strategic Environmental has developed a comprehensive program to identify existing water supply wells near proposed gas drilling sites and to establish existing groundwater quality prior to drilling activities. A thorough characterization of the existing groundwater chemistry of local water supplies is critical in order to be able to demonstrate that no degradation of groundwater quality has occurred as a result of drilling.
• Surface water and Groundwater Withdrawal, and Consumptive Use Approval - With our expertise in water resource management, we assist with surface water and groundwater use permitting through the Susquehanna River Basin Commission (SRBC) and Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC).
Strategic Environmental negotiates water supply agreements with municipalities and prepares necessary Approval by Rule documentation for the SRBC.
• Withdrawal Permit Reporting – Strategic Environmental will handle the record keeping and periodic reporting required by SRBC permits.
• Produced Water Characterization and Disposal Coordination –
Strategic Environmental is actively engaged in New York in assisting municipalities with approved pre-treatment programs and wastewater treatment plant capacity in satisfying NYSDEC requirements to accept produced water for disposal.
• Drilling Permit Assistance – Strategic Environmental provides assistance with EAF completion and other documentation needed for a complete application for a permit to drill in New York.
• Erosion and Sediment Control – Strategic Environmental engineers are experienced in design and implementation of appropriate erosion and sedimentation controls at drill sites.
